StreamsMany have a communications emphasis, and to assist in the choice of units we have identified five "streams" which bring together units with a shared perspective:
Language The study of language as communication
Power, representation and influence The study of communication in social and political formations
Culture and media The study of cultural texts and their circulation and consumption
Visual communication The study of images and their regimes of signification
Communicative practice Writing/performance/display: the craft of creating communicative "texts"
There is no requirement to take units from one or more of the streams: the completed Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies) degree can have as many, or as few, "streamed" units as you wish. However, you may find the groupings of use in enabling you to bring together units that relate to your own particular interests. |
